The Zodiac is American made with a continental 0-200 engine (certified FAR 33), all aluminum frame, large cabin area for maximum comfort. It is easier to fly than most other light sport planes and is one of the best special light sport planes on the market today.
In 2005, the FAA introduced the Special Light-Sport Aircraft (SLSA) and the new pilot certificate called the Sport Pilot Certificate for pilots who want to fly smaller light sport airplanes for recreation. The certificate is generally easier to earn than the Private Pilot certificate but has more restrictions. A Private Pilot can exercise all the same privileges as a Sport Pilot , but a Sport Pilot does not have all the privileges of a Private Pilot.
You can see the Zodiac at the Minden-Tahoe Airport or at the Carson City Airport just inside the south gate in front of the Sterling Air building or look for it in the air flying over the Carson Valley. And think, that could be you up there!
